The Role

Here at Hain Daniels we are currently recruiting for a Production Operative at our site in Northallerton. Here, we manufacture fresh soups and porridge for our Yorkshire Provender brand, and some products under retail / foodservice private label.

To assist Production Manager, Team Leader in all aspects of food production within an efficient, continuously improving, production line / area, that optimizes product quality, GMP, customer service, cost and Health & Safety. Specific responsibilities include preparation of vegetables, weighing of ingredients, cooking aligned to specification, filling, end of line packing and any other duties as requested by management.

This is a temporary assignment to assist during our peak-season.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining product traceability, quality and food safety.
  • Transfer of soup from blast chillers to the packing department.
  • Operation of machinery in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Storage of product following correct rotation and within set guidelines on time and temperature.
  • Quality monitoring of product within the area and business as a whole.
  • Attainment of daily production plan.
  • Ensuring ‘clean as you go’ practice is maintained at all times.
  • Clean down of machines and area in line with documented work instruction.
  • Awareness of all CCP areas and understand their importance including temperature to pack control.
  • Ensure all out case labelling is correctly monitored.
  • End of shift sign off of work area.
  • Ensure the area / line / product meet all company and legal requirements with regard to health & safety, environment, GMP, food safety and employment law.
  • Ensure the highest standards within the production area to deliver premium quality products to company specification.
  • Ensure all HACCP procedures are adhered to at all times, and all CCP’s you are responsible for is within specification.
  • Complete all relevant documentation.

What you will need for the role / what it will take

  • 1 years' experience within FMCG or relevant manufacturing site.
  • Basic Food Hygiene
  • Relevant Health & Safety awareness.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to self-manage.
  • Ability to problem solve.
