The Role

Here at Hain Daniels we are currently recruiting for a Procurement Manager. This role could be based out of our soup site at Grimsby, or at our meat free facility in Fakenham.
Reporting to the Senior Purchasing Manager , the role has responsibility for  implementing the Category Strategies for direct materials across the whole of Hain Daniels UK, delivering cost effective procurement and contracting for products  whilst fully meeting the business needs.

The position is currently  managing the packaging corrugated, cartonboard, labels and foils categories, but may include other direct material categories (i.e. ingredients).

Key Responsibilities
  • Use category management principles to develop strategies and execute plans for the direct categories under the role's control.
  • Develop and maintain a formal Category Strategy for each of the categories under the role's control with a minimum of an annual review.
  • Manage the tendering process for categories under role's authority, ensuring the negotiation and implementation of best value contracts taking account of the Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Develop and actively manage strategic relationships with suppliers, ensuring business requirements are fully understood and met and that supplier performance is measured and regularly evaluated.
  • Source new products / suppliers as appropriate to support the Group's commercial offering, ensuring the necessary criteria are met in respect of production process, quality, delivery and cost.
  • To provide timely market intelligence to the business.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with internal stakeholders / customers. Generate insight into their motivation to effectively influence adoptions of procurement strategies.
  • Working with internal cross functional teams to improve business processes.
  • Attend site meetings/reviews where appropriate.
  • Provide regular reporting on purchasing activity, supplier performance and market activity.

What you will need for the role / what it will take

  • Ideally MCIPS qualified.
  • Well experienced in a strategic sourcing role.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing process.
  • Good communicator, both written and orally.
  • Goal and result orientated.
  • Good influencing skills.
  • History of innovative thinking.
