The Role

Here at Hain Daniels we are currently recruiting for Production Operatives at our Gateshead site. Here, we manufacture freshly prepared fruit for both the retail and convenience channels, as well as key foodservice partners. We make high quality, delicious food-to-go products.

The role of Production Operative will be to assist the Management Team covering all aspects of production in both high and standard care production areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • To understand line speeds and efficiency (OEE) against targets for automated lines (Atlas / ABL / Kronen).
  • To achieve % fruit yield against targets on automated lines.
  • To ensure fruit is prepped to required specification and traceability is maintained at all times. To report production errors to the Line Leaders immediately so that product can be reworked / rejected.
  • To carry out all job related start up checks and intermediate cleans, following the procedures set out in the SOP's / training received.
  • Good manufacturing practices to be carried out including colour coding, personal hygiene, hand washing and waste removal.
  • Finds procedure followed for foreign body hazards identified in the area.
  • Wearing required PPE (for example, thermal / anti-slash gloves).
  • Report all accidents and Near Miss incidents to immediate supervisor.
  • To make suggestions on ways to improve performance in your area and implement agreed actions if applicable.
  • To seek to develop yourself by attending training courses, delivering appropriate skills training in your area and ensuring sign off against approved Standing Operating Procedures.
  • Will carry out other duties as needed by the business.

What you will need for the role / what it will take

  • Proven skill level relating to the area concerned.
  • Able to understand and implement Good Manufacturing Practice.
  • Can work as part of a team and follow basic operating principles.
  • Inherent understanding of site hygiene, technical, QA, HR and Health and Safety.
  • Basic level of English understanding.
  • Can demonstrate a 'can-do' approach.
