The Role

Hain Daniels are currently recruiting for an Engineering Shift Team Leader at our Histon site. Here, we manufacture a host of ambient sweet spreads and jellies for our grocery brands. These includes Hartley's jams and jellies, Gale's honey, Rose's marmalades, Sun-Pat peanut butter, and the dairy free brand Dream.

The role of Engineering Shift Team Leader will be to coordinate all aspects of Production Engineering with your shift team members to deliver improved plant performance of production. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure service levels are efficient and of a high standard.

  • Plan to improve service to the customer (internal and external) wherever possible.

  • Ensure the business priorities are considered and where possible fulfilled with regards to safety, up-time and product quality.

  • Oversee control of contractors attending site, when requested.

  • Prioritise actions to deliver immediate and long term solutions to enable production output of quality products to be achieved feeding back and updating operations accordingly.

  • Actively lead routine maintenance activities, both predictive and reactive, to improve plant performance.

  • Using existing systems and processes maintain high levels of workplace organisation incorporating good manufacturing practices to deliver a food safe environment and high levels of hygiene.

  • Drive the focus on engineering KPI’s and RFT repairs and maintenance as a strategic part of the engineering process to manage the performance of the plant.

  • Carrying out any reasonable request from the Site Leadership Team.

  • Ensure compliance to current Health and Safety Legislation whilst providing a professional and proactive approach to Health & Safety.

What you will need for the role / what it will take:

 
    • Time served Engineering Apprenticeship, with Industry experience.

    • A positive attitude, open to change with a proactive approach and passionate attitude to business success.

    • A positive and flexible approach to on-going training.

    • A results orientated individual with adherence to high quality standards and continuous improvement.

    • An excellent time manager with an adaptable/flexible approach.
