The Role

At Hain Celestial, we’re excited to announce an opportunity for a Specifications Team Leader. This is a remote role, collaborating closely with our sites across the UK.
 
PURPOSE OF ROLE
  • To manage the workload of the specifications team, ensuring all specifications and artwork are compliant with all relevant legal legislation in addition to retailer codes of practice.
  • To manage a specification team - ensuring that help, support & guidance is provided where necessary & personal development plans are worked towards.
  • Be a point of contact both internally & externally for specification & artwork queries.
  • Project management – including the formulation of critical paths & ensuring these are adhered to.
  • To write & maintain product specifications for various retail & non-retail customers. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To co-manage the workload of the specifications team, ensuring all specifications and artwork are compliant with all relevant legal legislation in addition to retailer codes of practice.
  •  To manage, complete and maintain finished product specifications at across the group within the timescales required, liaising and working with site technical and NPD departments, sales and the customer.
  • Main point of contact for artwork sign off relating to legal labelling.
  • Ensure the stage and gate process is followed effectively to ensure compliance to the required standard – e.g. BRC.
  • Support the development of specification function across the group via cross training and process  development activities. 
  • To keep up to date with customer policies and legal changes / amendments 

What you will need for the Role:  

  • Essential: Certification in retailer specification portals and legal labelling.
  •  Preferred: Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  •  Minimum of 2 years in a senior specifications or team leader role within food manufacturing.
  • Proven experience managing specifications for major retailers, with strong knowledge of food regulations and safety standards.
  •  Experience with specifications management software (e.g., Hamilton Grant) and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
