The Role

Here at Hain Daniels we are currently recruiting for an Automation Engineer. The successful candidate will deliver provide technical support to the site electricians whilst delivering professional and proactive response to breakdown situations across site ensuring continuity of production at all times – 24x7. Will work with the automations manager to develop and review existing Automation systems to make them more effective and reliable and liaise  with all internal departments to support improvements requiring modifications to the automation systems or the associated computer and industrial networks.

The role will support and develop both the Production Engineering Team and Site Utilities Engineering Team  to ensure the effective use of the current electrical skill base, supporting the daily operation. Also be a key player in driving improvements and reliability in isolation and with the Maintenance Technicians. The role will be responsible for ensuring thst effective software maintenance continuity will be progressive and be successful in assisting the site achieve its targets utilising best practice and predictive techniques.

The role will provide effective training  programmes and documents for the electrical members of the engineering team with respect to industrial controls. To step change the performance and efficiency of the existing plant through continuous improvement, first time fixes and good root cause analysis.

What you will need for the role / what it will take

The successful candidate must hold a formal Engineering qualification – HND electrical Engineering or equivalent.  You will have 5 years plus experience in control system engineering role and detailed understanding of control systems and processes. A minimum of three years experience in programming with one of the following PLC’s:- Allen Bradley, CLX, Siemens S7300, Siemens S7-1200/1500. Experience and competence with the Wonderware suite of products including Intouch. You will have a good knowledge of industrial networks and good working knowledge of computer hardware and experience of virtualisation and VMware products.
