The Role
 

Hain Daniels are recruiting a Warehouse Operations Manager (12 month contract) to manage the high paced Peterborough Distribution Centre. This role includes full accountability of the warehouse, H&S, BRC standards & administration functions, Management of day to day warehouse operations including labour planning and recruitment. OTIF, Management of stock control function, responsible for stock management on site and stock reconciliations with 3rd party warehouses. Management of POD, credit claims process and service level for group while controlling costs. You will ensure that all legal and regulatory standards are maintained.

This role is within a FMCG Warehouse environment and is based in Peterborough.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance company image internally and externally

  • Monitor and ensure internal and external service levels are met

  • Set up effective communication internally, between sites and customers

  • Active man management of team to include resource/labour planning

  • Manage the warehouse proactively, ensuring that the pick operation meets the demands of outbound loads

  • Hold weekly site meetings and daily catch up sessions with team

  • Manage the warehouse within agreed budget and report on key KPI’s as required.

  • Ensure that stock takes are carried out on site at PDC as per the agreed schedule.

  • Identify any significant variances and investigate these.

  • Report back on any issues to business.

  • To ensure that Movex/M3 is reconciled with the 3pl’s warehouse management systems by carrying out daily/weekly reconciliations. 

  • Ensure the entire team are adhering to the H&S procedures

  • Ensure that all POD amendments are completed as soon as POD’s or notifications are received by team

What you will need for the role / what it will take

  • Specialist Knowledge of Distribution, systems and warehousing
  • Be able to demonstrate specific knowledge and experience in similar role
  • Experience of management of complex systems and process mgmt.
  • Hands on distribution management experience in a large volume, fast paced environment
  • Computer and system literacy
  • Ability to demonstrate man-management and leadership skills
  • Ability to demonstrate good financial control and management
