The Role

We currently have a vacancy for a Category Manager at our Grocery site in Histon, Cambridge.  This is a diverse and challenging role in the Category team, balancing objective category thinking with delivering tangible results for Hain Daniels Grocery.

Using consumer, shopper and retailer data, the category manager will develop insight and make recommendations that will drive growth in both Hain Daniels and our customers businesses.  The purpose of the role is to champion our category vison both internally and externally, delivering a range and merchandising solution in line with this. You will also develop and implement promotional strategies with our retail partners to drive both Category and Hain growth.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • You will lead category change and implement a vision for the category moving forward
  • Generate category insight using shopper and market data that leads to a clear understanding of the situation and develops a clear recommendations that drive action in store.
  • Lead the range review process with our retail partners, providing range and merchandising recommendations
  • Develop price and promotion strategies with our customers, sales and marketing teams that maximise category growth.

What you will need for the role / what it will take

  • Ability to find actionable insights from data, to create simple and compelling stories from multiple information and data sources in order to influence decisions.
  • A high level of proactivity, actively interrogating the different data looking for insights.
  • A natural drive for achievement with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Build strong relationships with our customers across different roles, and demonstrate credibility with analysis and recommendations.
  • Highly numerate with strong Excel skills.
  • A desire to learn and constantly improve both what you do and how you do it.
