The Role

Here at Hain Daniels we are currently recruiting for a Production Operative (Soup Filler) at our Lakeside site in Grimsby.

To assist Shift Manager, Team Leader in all aspects of food production within an efficient, continuously improving, production line / area optimises product quality, GMP, customer service, cost and health & safety. Specific responsibilities include blending, packing, assembling of a number of product lines within a well-trained team, where there is open communication at all levels.
The shift pattern for these vacancies are as follows: 3x8 - 5 days of 10pm-6am starting on a Sunday evening and finishing on a Friday morning. Following week is 5 days of 2pm-10pm, and the following week 5 days of 6am-2pm.
During the busy season, you may be required to change your shift to 4 on 4 off, which is currently 2 days 6am-6pm, 2 nights 6pm-6am, then 4 days off.
Rate of pay is £8.50 per hour, with 30mins unpaid lunch break.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all products are made to company specification including temperature, weight, photo standards, CCP, and reporting all failures to a Team Leader.
  • Assembling, blending, and packing quality products to company standards at all times, reporting any failures.
  • Report all downtime to ensure they are acted upon immediately and incidents of more than 10mins are reported.
  • Provide information of issues to ensure improvements are captured and implemented.
  • Help maintain GMP by keeping work area / line clean and tidy.
  • Ensure all near miss and accidents are reported to management.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, together with a can-do attitude.
  • Adhere to safe system at work.
  • Ensure materials are available and equipment is operating properly to deliver the production plan.
  • Ensure efficient and effective shift change over, by controlling stock levels, GMP, and documentation.
  • Ensure all HACCP procedures are adhered to at all times, and all CCP's you are responsible for are within specification.

What you will need for the role / what it will take:

  • 1 years' experience within the FMCG industry, or relevant manufacturing site.
  • Basic food hygiene.
  • Relevant Health & Safety awareness.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to self-manage.
  • Good at problem solving.
