The Role

Here at Hain Daniels we are currently recruiting for a Lead Operator at our Grimsby site. Here, we manufacture fresh soups and ready meals, for our own brands, under license, and for private label products.

You will support the Team Leader in the management of all aspects, and actively assist in delivering all KPI's and act as the Team Leader during absence / holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in a 'hands-on' role, maintaining delegated tasks.
  • Manage Operators in their day-to-day tasks, ensuring effective use of labour.
  • Comply with all health and safety, and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure that all Operators are present at their work stations on time, and also leave on time.
  • Ensure operator compliance with standard operating procedures, quality procedures, use of Scada HMI screens and, if appropriate, electronic files.
  • Assist in the coordination of Operator training.
  • Collect all relevant operational and quality records, ensuring that they are returned for safe storage.
  • Maintain stock and suitability of sundries e.g. housekeeping tools, PPE.
  • Maintain a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping and be responsible for presentation of department to customer visits / audits and Senior Management.
  • Lead accident investigation, Top Talks and Near Miss reports.

What you will need for the role / what it will take

  • Well-experienced within an FMCG environment.
  • IT literacy.
  • Be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the food industry, processes, equipment and Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement.
  • Up-to-date understanding of relevant legislative policies and procedures.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
