The Role

Here at Hain Daniels we are currently recruiting for a Technical Manager at our Corby site. Here, we produce freshly prepared fruit, freshly squeezed juices and smoothies, fresh fruit patisserie and fruit jellies for the retail channel.

Based in our Drinks facility, the Technical Manager will have overall responsibility for the sites technical function: to lead, guide and develop reporting members of the team, and to establish and maintain a culture of high technical standards in all site staff; to build strong relationships with all customer representatives, and to ensure full compliance with their technical requirements. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deputy to Head of Technical (Fruit Division)
  • Overall responsibility for all technical aspects of the units covered, ensuring, through a team of experts and robust internal and external auditing programmes, that the site operates to high technical and compliance standards, ensuring food safety, legality and quality
  • Building strong partnerships with all customer representatives.
  • Management of technical crisis situations.
  • Trouble shooting and continuous improvement.
  • Feasibilities for new products and equipment to site, adopting robust change control procedures.
  • Part of trained audit team on site, contributing to internal and external audit programmes.
  • Management and coordination of customer and third party audits.
  • Maintain site standards to ensure compliance with legal, customer and company requirements.
  • To provide relevant technical reports into various aspects of the business and ensure these are used a management tool for continuous improvement.

What you will need for the role / what it will take

 
  • Degree / HND in a Food or Science discipline.
  • Lead Auditor qualified
  • Experienced as a Technical Manager in a similar role.
  • Evidence of strong customer relationships.
  • Proven track record of successful customer and third party audits.
  • Demonstrable understanding of systems which control food safety, legality, and quality. E.g. HACCP, GMP, Hygiene.
  • Internal and supplier auditing experience.
  • Good understanding of Food Microbiology.
  • Good understanding of food labelling.
  • IT literate.
