Hain is looking for an experienced Stock Controller to join our team at our dedicated Meat Free facility in Fakenham. This site produces vegetarian products for The Unbelievable ALT. brand and Linda McCartney Foods.

As a Stock Controller, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our warehouse management system (WMS) aligns with physical stock counts. You will lead daily stock counts, investigate variances, and collaborate closely with supply chain teams to resolve stock-related queries. This role ensures the smooth flow of inventory data and helps maintain the accuracy of stock records to support our operational success.

Key Responsibilities:

Stock Management (45%)

  • Reconcile the warehouse management system (WMS) with 3PL warehouse systems through daily and weekly checks.
  • Maintain stock count frequencies with 3PL partners and ensure all product groups are counted as per set parameters.
  • Identify and address stock rotation issues, reporting any stock gains or losses in a weekly report.
  • Conduct regular audits of 3PL stock to ensure accuracy.

Investigating Stock Variances (20%)

  • Perform re-checks and additional stock counts when variances are identified.
  • Review recent orders and stock movements to investigate discrepancies.

Liaising with Supply Chain Teams (15%)

  • Share stock status updates with the warehouse team and supply chain teams.
  • Report significant variances and provide explanations to the supply chain team.

Auditing Paperwork and Transactions (10%)

  • Audit stock-related paperwork, such as transfer and putaway sheets, reporting issues to the site management team.
  • Prepare and submit inventory control reports.

Interface Systems (10%)

  • Oversee the functionality of WMS and interface systems with 3PL partners to ensure accurate stock positions.
  • Address and resolve any interface system breakdowns.
  • Manage sales and purchase order processing to meet KPI targets.

Out-of-Date Stock Management (5%)

  • Manage disposal of waste stock following authorizations from supply chain teams.
  • Liaise with charities regarding potential donations of waste stock.
  • Confirm and process orders for waste stock and communicate actions to warehouse and transport teams.

What You’ll Need:

  • Education: GCSE Maths (Grade C or above).
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience working in a warehouse or stores environment (essential).
    • Experience as a stock controller (beneficial).
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in computer systems, including warehouse management systems.
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
