As we continue to grow our market-leading brands and own-label offerings, we’re looking for a dynamic Commercial Strategy Manager to help drive profitable growth and commercial excellence across our UK business.
This is a high-impact role at the intersection of sales and marketing, focused on the commercial management of key customers and channels. You’ll work cross-functionally to lead the commercial strategy and execution of brand and own-label plans, playing a critical role in aligning internal teams and maximising sustainable, profitable growth.
You’ll be responsible for delivering results across sales, profit, distribution, and visibility while ensuring exceptional execution of strategic initiatives. The role may also include direct or indirect team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
Set and drive the commercial direction of key brands and categories to deliver against budget and targets.

Commercial Planning
Own the commercial input to the IBP process (GSV-GM P&L), aligning with finance and customer teams on key strategic priorities.

Toolkits & Execution
Ensure sales teams are equipped with toolkits, factsheets, samples, and compelling selling stories to deliver best-in-class execution.

Portfolio & Promotional Planning
Define channel-specific portfolios, work cross-functionally to validate profitability, and manage promotional investment in line with commercial strategy.

Cross-functional Collaboration
Act as the internal connector across portfolio, innovation, sales, and marketing teams to ensure smooth execution of projects.

Customer & Channel Initiatives
Support development of customer-specific strategies and channel playbooks, plus assist in pricing strategy and cost price increase processes.
- Reporting & Insight
Monitor category, customer, and competitor performance, sharing insights and contributing to cross-functional alignment.
What You’ll Need

Experience & Background
-
FMCG sales experience (ideally Blue Chip) with a strong track record of managing Joint Business Plans and executing customer strategies.

Experience across both branded and own label, ideally within chilled and either ambient or frozen categories.

Exposure to multiple customers and channels.

Skills & Capabilities

Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

Strong commercial acumen and results orientation.

Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Confident using frameworks like Absolute Clarity, Selling with Impact, and Ninja Negotiation.

A proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
